Inland Revenue Bernie was engaged by us, the Department of Labour, to facilitate our Workforce Senior Manager’s Forum held on 17 -18 September in Wellington. Around 120 senior managers based onshore and offshore responsible for immigration services across the globe came together to attend the Forum. The sentiment behind the Forum, and therefore Bernie’s brief, was for it to be relaxed for senior managers to ask questions and to engage, energise and continue the ‘Making it Happen’ theme forward. As the organiser of the Forum, Bernie simply did a fantastic job. It was a pleasure working with him from the early ‘pulling it together stage’ to the final ‘proof in the pudding’ delivery which he executed very well. I really enjoyed the course and got a lot out of it, and to be honest, I don’t normally have much patience for full day training sessions so that’s a real testament to your teaching style! I think I’m a strange combination of all four of the personality types at times… it was a real achievement to keep me fully engaged for that duration anyway! I was really impressed with the way in which you built an environment where we all felt comfortable enough to do the role playing and to share such personal insights about ourselves with no fuss or drama - it all felt very low key and “safe”. The emotional drivers work really got me thinking over the weekend and helped me learn some things about myself - about why it’s so important for me to have that calm, peace and serenity in my life. And the questions work really hit a chord with me - I’ve done work on questioning in the past, but it didn’t resonate with me the way your session did. Very enlightening! Thanks again for your wisdom and insights, and I hope to work with you again in the future.
